Laura Bain
Laura is a media trainer, journalist and communications expert with more than a decade of experience working in Myanmar, South Sudan and Ghana, and developing training curricula for media personnel in Turkey, Syria, Mali and Afghanistan with a special focus on human rights reporting. Laura has worked for Al Jazeera, TRT World and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. She has also served as a Communications Specialist for the FAO of the United Nations.
Mona Awwad
Mona has over ten years of experience in political and social research, policy analysis, journalism, translation, and specialized support for immigrants and refugees in both Canada and the Middle East. She is currently working in broadcast journalism as an Arabic news reporter and acting producer at OMNI Television, as well as an occasional media development trainer for Journalists for Human Rights (JHR).
